WH92 Dual Fe/NFe Coating Thickness Gauge

    Product Introduction
The WH92 Dual Fe/NFe Coating Thickness Gauge is a portable coating thickness tester that combines magnetic induction and eddy current measurement methods. It is designed to measure non-conductive coatings on ferrous substrates and non-ferrous metal coatings on suitable conductive substrates.
The separate probe is connected to the main unit by a cable, allowing the WH92 to access recessed surfaces, grooves, difficult-to-reach areas and external surfaces of aluminum alloy windows. It is particularly suitable for stable measurement of anodized coatings on aluminum alloy materials.
With a measurement range of 0–1250 μm, compact dimensions and a weight of only approximately 115 g including batteries, the WH92 is suitable for both laboratory inspection and field coating thickness measurement.

    Performance Features
    •  Dual measurement technology: Combines magnetic induction and eddy current methods.
    •  Wide measurement range: Measures coating thickness from 0 to 1250 μm.
    •  Separate wired probe: Provides better access to grooves, recessed surfaces and difficult measurement locations.
    •  Stable anodized coating measurement: Particularly suitable for anodized aluminum alloy surfaces.
    • Ferrous and non-ferrous metal measurement: Supports coating measurement on both iron/steel and suitable non-ferrous substrates.
    •  Compact and lightweight: Approx. 115 g including batteries.
    •  Simple calibration: Supports zero-point and two-point calibration.
    •  Low power consumption: Operates with two AA batteries.
    •  Portable design: Suitable for on-site inspection and quality control.

    Working Principle
The WH92 Coating Thickness Gauge uses two different electromagnetic measurement principles according to the substrate material.
For ferrous substrates, such as iron and steel, the instrument uses the magnetic induction method. The probe generates a magnetic field, and the change in magnetic flux caused by the coating thickness is detected and converted into a coating thickness value.
For suitable non-ferrous conductive substrates, such as aluminum, the instrument uses the eddy current method. The probe generates an alternating electromagnetic field, producing eddy currents in the conductive substrate. The resulting electromagnetic response varies with the thickness of the coating and is converted into a thickness reading.
The separate probe allows the sensor to reach areas that are difficult to measure with an integrated probe, making the WH92 particularly useful for aluminum alloy windows, grooves, recessed surfaces and anodized coatings.
