    MC-2000D Coating Thickness Gauge
    Product Introduction
The MC-2000D Coating Thickness Gauge is a compact digital coating thickness meter designed for non-destructive measurement of non-magnetic coatings on ferromagnetic substrates. Based on electromagnetic induction technology, it measures coating thickness from 10 to 9000 μm with a minimum indication of 1 μm.
The MC-2000D combines a full-range separated probe, digital LCD display, system calibration, data storage, statistical analysis, low-voltage indication and automatic/manual shutdown in a lightweight handheld instrument. It can store up to 600 measurement values, making it suitable for both field inspection and laboratory quality control.

    Key Features
    •  Wide measurement range: 10–9000 μm.
    •  Non-destructive measurement: Measures coating thickness without damaging the substrate.
    •  Electromagnetic induction principle: Designed for non-magnetic coatings on ferromagnetic materials.
    •  Full-range single probe: One separated probe supports the full measurement range.
    •  High resolution: Minimum indication of 1 μm.
    •  High measurement accuracy: Variation of <3% ±1 μm.
    •  Large data storage: Stores up to 600 measurement values.
    •  Statistical functions: Displays average, maximum and minimum values.
    • Data readout and deletion: Stored measurements can be reviewed or selectively deleted.
    •  System calibration: Supports calibration to improve measurement reliability.
    •  Low-power design: Maximum power consumption is only 100 mW.
    •  Portable construction: Approx. 160 g including batteries.
    •  Automatic shutdown: Supports both automatic and manual power-off.
    •  Optional printing: Measurement results can be printed using an optional micro-printer.
    •  Backlit display: Screen features an automatic backlight function.

    Working Principle
The MC-2000D uses the electromagnetic induction method to measure coating or plating thickness.
When the probe is placed on a coated ferromagnetic substrate, it generates a closed magnetic circuit through the substrate. The magnetic reluctance and inductance of the probe coil change according to the distance between the probe and the ferromagnetic base material.
Because the coating layer separates the probe from the ferromagnetic substrate, changes in the magnetic characteristics correspond to the coating thickness. The instrument processes these changes electronically and displays the calculated coating thickness on the LCD screen.
This method enables non-destructive coating thickness measurement of materials such as zinc, copper and chromium coatings, as well as paint, enamel, glass, spray and asphalt coatings on steel and other ferromagnetic substrates.
