JL-SPB-1 Gypsum Board Fire Stability Tester

    Product Introduction
The JL-SPB-1 Gypsum Board Fire Stability Tester is designed to determine the fire stability of paper-faced fire-resistant gypsum boards. It can also be used to evaluate the fire performance of other building, decorative, and interior finishing materials when applicable test methods are specified.
The instrument uses two burners to expose a suspended specimen to controlled high-temperature flames. Dual thermocouples monitor temperature, while digital displays and automatic control support consistent test conditions. The time from flame application until specimen failure is recorded to evaluate fire stability.

    Performance Features
    • Dual-burner design: Applies flames to the specimen under specified test conditions.
    •   Automatic ignition: Simplifies burner ignition and test preparation.
    •  Dual-thermocouple temperature measurement: Supports monitoring of the test temperature.
    •  Digital temperature and time display: Allows operators to observe key test parameters.
    • Automatic test control: Controls the test process according to configured settings.
    • Automatic failure-time recording: Records the burning time when the specimen breaks or falls.
    •   Adjustable flame length: Flame length can be adjusted from 20 to 100 mm.
    •  Adjustable test duration: Flame application and holding times can be set within the specified timing range.
    •   Selectable hanging loads: Supports six load options from 7 N to 20 N.

    Working Principle
The test specimen is drilled and conditioned under the specified environmental conditions before being suspended between two burners. The burner outlets are positioned perpendicular to the specimen surface, with a specified distance of 30 mm between each flame outlet and the board surface. A prescribed load is attached to the lower end of the specimen.
Using coal gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as the fuel source, the burners heat the specimen. A thermocouple positioned 5 mm from the board surface monitors the temperature. The temperature is adjusted to reach 800 ± 30°C within three minutes and is maintained throughout the test.
Timing begins when the specimen is exposed to the flames and continues until the specimen fractures or fails. The failure times of five specimens are recorded, and the shortest time is taken as the fire stability result for the group, rounded to the nearest minute according to the supplied test procedure.
