Post-column derivative device
Post-column derivation, also known as post-column reaction (Post-column Derivatization), the use of derivative reaction analyte with the corresponding reagent analysis to change its physical or chemical properties, to be detected.
Is a chemical transformation of compounds into similar chemical structure of the material.
In general, a particular function of the compound involved in the derivative reaction, solubility, boiling point, melting point, aggregation or chemical composition will deviate. The resulting new chemistry can be used to quantify or separate.
GC: Enhance the purpose of volatile living to improve the polarity of the target agent.
HPLC: Increase the detector's response to the target.
Post-column derivatization
After the separation of the isolate from the analytical column, the derivative is reacted with the derivatizing agent in the derivatization cell, the object of separation in the column, and the derivative detected at the detector.
