Product Introduction
The HD-A504-B Paperboard Bursting Strength Tester is an internationally used Mullen-type bursting strength tester for evaluating the bursting strength of paper, paperboard and corrugated board. It can also be used for selected non-paper materials such as silk and cotton fabrics.
Designed as a fully automatic bursting tester, the instrument automatically performs hydraulic pressurization, specimen clamping, pressure release and return. Test results are automatically calculated, stored and displayed on the touchscreen, with printing available for convenient quality control and test-data management.

Working Principle
The HD-A504-B uses the Mullen bursting method. The test specimen is positioned between the upper and lower clamping rings and automatically clamped. Hydraulic pressure is then applied through a flexible diaphragm until the specimen bursts.
The pressure required to rupture the specimen is detected by a pressure transducer and converted into a digital test result. The instrument automatically completes pressure application, return, calculation and data storage. The final bursting strength can be displayed in selectable pressure units and printed for record keeping.
