Introduction:
Short-path molecular distillation is a distillation technology that operates over a short distance. It is a method based on the difference in boiling points in a liquid mixture under negative pressure to separate the mixture. When the sample mixture to be purified is heated, the vapor rises and enters a vertical condenser, where it is cooled by water. This technology is used for compounds that are unstable at high temperatures because it can ensure a lower boiling point.
Its advantage is that the heating temperature can be much lower than the boiling point of the liquid under standard pressure (under negative pressure), and the distillate travels only a short distance before condensation.
