ASPE-8 Automatic Solid Phase Extraction Instrument
    Product Introduction
The ASPE-8 Automatic Solid Phase Extraction Instrument is a fully automated SPE sample preparation system designed to perform activation, sample loading, washing, elution, drying and waste handling with minimal operator intervention. Equipped with 8 independent channels and precision syringe pumps, the system can process 8 samples simultaneously and continuously automate up to 80 samples when using 1, 3, 6, 12 or 20 mL SPE cartridges.
The ASPE-8 supports liquid, large-volume water, viscous and other sample preparation workflows. Its flexible solvent selection, programmable SPE cartridge sealing, automatic positioning, nitrogen drying, separate waste collection and Windows-based wireless control software make it suitable for high-throughput laboratory sample preparation.

    Performance Features
    •   Fully automated SPE workflow: Automatically performs cartridge activation, sample loading, washing, elution, drying and other programmed steps.
    • 8-channel parallel processing: Eight samples can be processed simultaneously through 8 independent channels.
    •   High-throughput capacity: Up to 80 samples can be continuously processed with 1, 3, 6, 12 or 20 mL SPE cartridges.
    •  Large-volume sample processing: Optional large-volume loading module enables automated extraction and enrichment of large-volume water samples, with 80-sample continuous batch capability.
    •   8 solvent selections: Each channel uses a 12-port valve to select among 8 solvents, sample, extraction, air and waste paths.
    •  Precision syringe pumps: 8 or more independent high-precision syringe pumps provide a flow rate of 0.1–100 mL/min.
    • Automatic cartridge sealing: The SPE cartridge rack is automatically positioned, and the sealing pin descends to seal cartridges in sequence.
    •   Adjustable sealing height: The O-ring seals against the inner wall of the SPE cartridge. Sealing height can be software-adjusted from 2.0–5.0 cm.
    •   Dual-needle structure: Separate sample loading and cartridge sealing needles reduce the risk of cross-contamination; both needles receive corrosion-resistant treatment.
    •   Automatic immunoaffinity cap removal: Mechanical movement automatically removes cartridge caps, which are collected in a dedicated cap collection tray.
    •   Automatic solvent-line cleaning: Independent solvent lines and automatic cleaning help maintain the fluid path.
    •   Automatic nitrogen drying: External nitrogen with a three-way valve provides stable flow for in-line SPE cartridge drying.
    •   Flexible racks: Multiple sample racks, collection racks and concentration cups are available, including concentration cups with tail tubes.
    •   Automatic positioning: Sample, collection and SPE cartridge racks can move independently and automatically locate their working positions.
    •   Active collection-tube alignment: Collection tubes automatically align with cartridge outlets to reduce splashing and cross-contamination.
    •  Separated waste collection: Waste channels can separately collect wastewater, waste organic solvents and other hazardous waste for appropriate handling.
    •   Compact design: The instrument can be installed inside a fume hood, with solvent bottles positioned above the main unit to save laboratory space.
    •   One-touch rack movement: A dedicated button quickly moves the sample rack, collection rack and cartridge rack for convenient replacement.
    •   Wireless Windows software: The control software communicates with the SPE instrument via Wi-Fi, allowing the computer to be positioned away from the laboratory workbench.
    •  Intelligent software assistance: Method-editing error reminders, real-time monitoring, comprehensive logs and intelligent alarm prediction improve operational traceability.

    Working Principle
The ASPE-8 performs solid phase extraction through a programmable sequence of cartridge activation, sample loading, washing, elution and collection.
The selected solvent is delivered through the corresponding solvent line and 12-port valve to the appropriate SPE channel. The precision syringe pump controls the flow rate, while the SPE cartridge is automatically positioned and sealed at the preset height.
After the sample passes through the SPE sorbent, target compounds are retained while unwanted matrix components are removed during washing. The selected elution solvent then releases the retained compounds into collection vessels or concentration cups.
For large-volume samples, the optional loading module enables automated processing and enrichment of large water samples. After extraction, nitrogen can be automatically introduced for in-line drying of the SPE cartridge.
The software controls the complete workflow, monitors instrument status and records operational logs, enabling automated batch SPE sample preparation with reduced manual intervention.
